For Ryan Murphy’s Capote vs the Swans, we wanted to show a contrast between what you see in the surface versus what is happening under the water.
The metaphor here was showing how elegant a swan, or in this case the women in the show can be, while occasionally cutting to chaotic scenes of someone drowning, then cutting back to the calm elegant world of glamour.
